A: Yes, everyone at Ulti Group is part of our Health & Safety Culture, as everyone can discuss or provide input into the system.
We, at Ulti Group, have an open-door policy and often use the phrase “If we know about it, then we can fix it”.
Q: When using Sub-contractors does Ulti Group ensure their Health & Safety Systems are in place?
A: Yes, this is a crucial aspect of the new HSWA 2015 legislation which came online with the term PCBU being coined and the shared responsibility pertaining to Health & Safety matters becoming important.
Ulti Group takes this very seriously and has developed a Sub-Contractor Pre-qualification assessment for our Sub-contractors, in which we assess their Health & Safety Management System, through evidence-based submissions.
This is followed by a review of the documentation. If gaps are found we work with our Sub-contractors to close those identified gaps. Thereby ensuring that they work safely and that their staff are safe, whether working directly for us or not.
Q: Does Ulti Group only rely on Pre-qualifications to assess their Health & Safety Management System?
A: No. We have a comprehensive Internal Audit & Inspection System where our Regional offices are audited internally twice a year. This includes an initial Audit where gaps are identified, and a rectification plan.
On site audits & inspections are completed by management of staff working on our clients’ sites and this confirms that our staff are actually working safely.
We also have clients conduct audits of our H&S Management System, when they visit our offices and conduct a comprehensive audit of our Health & Safety Management System. Recently, we underwent such an audit by a large food production company and the audit team said, “This is one of the Best Health & Safety Systems we have seen”.
